Unit 3: Drivetrains with REV DUO

Objective: Basic Drivetrain Build and Assembly

In this mini-project, you will construct a basic drivetrain. This page will break the full build into smaller sub-assemblies.

Materials Needed

Front Drive Shaft Assembly

Begin building your drivetrain by assembling two (2) of the Front Drive Shafts.

Front Drive Shaft Assembly (1/4)

Rear Drive Shaft Assembly

Continue building your drivetrain by assembling two (2) of the Rear Drive Shafts.

Rear Drive Shaft Assembly (1/4)

2 Motor Drivetrain Right-side

Use one of the Front Drive Shafts and Rear Drive Shafts to assemble the right side of the drivetrain.

2 Motor Drivetrain Right-side (1/5)

2 Motor Drivetrain Left -side

Use the remaining Front Drive Shaft and Rear Drive Shaft to assemble the left side of the drivetrain.

2 Motor Drivetrain Left-side (1/5)

UltraPlanetary Gearbox 20:1 Assembly

Using the UltraPlanetary Gearbox Kit & HD Hex Motor, build two (2) 20:1 Gearboxes and attach them to the HD Hex Motor.

2 Motor Drivetrain Right-side Motor Mount

Attach the 20:1 Gearbox and HD Hex Motor to the Right side of you Drivetrain.

2 Motor Drivetrain Right-side Motor and Grip Wheels (1/7)

2 Motor Drivetrain Left-side Motor Mount

Attach the 20:1 Gearbox and HD Hex Motor to the Left side of your Drivetrain.

2 Motor Drivetrain Left-side Motor and Grip Wheels (1/7)

2 Motor Drivetrain Chassis Assembly

Attach the Left and Right sides of the drive train together to form the Drivetrain Chassis.

Hook and Loop Battery Holder

Hook and Loop Battery Holder (1/9)

2 Motor Drivetrain Control Hub and Battery Mount

Build the structure to hold the Control Hub and Battery and attach it to your chassis.
